You may have heard of Simily by now as it has become quite popular on Medium. After reading different articles claiming how Simily can be a potential rival to Medium. I thought, is it so?

I first heard about Simily when I read an article on Medium by Kristina God. She explained how great this new platform is and can challenge Medium once it grows its user base. I quickly hopped on to the platform and signed up for a free account.

To be honest, I didn’t like it at first but still decided to give it a try. And now, after posting 8 stories, I must say it’s a cool platform not only for non-fiction writers but also for fiction writers who love to write poetry or interesting stories. I haven’t written anything but only reposting my Medium articles on Simily. That’s cool, huh!

If you don’t know anything about Simily and its work process, let me explain it to you.

About Simily

Simily is an online publishing platform where you can publish fiction as well as non-fiction stories. Just in case, fiction stories are not quite popular in Medium. So if you love to write poetry, horror stories, romantic stories, or anything, Simily can be a great platform to write on. You can sign up for a free account from here.

Is Simily free to write on?

Yes, it’s completely free to write on Simily. But like Medium, you can pay for membership. A free account only allows you to read up to 5 stories a month.

To become a member of Simily, you need to pay $6.99 per month to access unlimited stories while its annual plan starts at $69 per year with 2 months free. At present, they have a special launch price where you have to pay only $1.99 for the first month and then $6.99 the following month.

More or less, Simily follows the same business model of Medium.

Does Simily pay its writer?

Of course, it does!

Since Simily is new and doesn’t have many members, it can’t pay like Medium. So it will pay from its own fund, i.e., for every visitor you get on your post, you’ll get $0.02. Once Simily attains a good number of members, it will start paying you from the money earned from its members.

All payments are made through PayPal so you don’t have to worry about getting paid, unlike Medium where Stripe doesn’t support few countries like India, Brazil, etc. So anyone from non-supported countries can earn money on Simily if not from Medium.

Put it this way,

1,000 visitors= $20

10,000 visitors= $200

100,000 visitors= $2,000

You can have a better chance of earning plus gaining attention once Simily becomes popular.

That said, Simily is new and not everyone knows about it yet. So you can try your hands on this platform with your writing skills and see where it gets you through. Try this and tell me what do you think? Is Simily a potential rival to Medium?

Hey, you can follow me on Simily so we can help each other grow on this new platform.
